Pottery connects me to the Earth and gets me dirty. I like dirty.
I prefer to experiment with reduction glazes. For that I needed small fuel burning kilns. I didn’t like anything that was commercially available so I built my own. So far a cone 10 downdraft, a portable cone 6 updraft and a raku kiln, all propane fired. I find the sparks from arc welding and the excitement of high pressure propane plumbing highly therapeutic.
